Dental charting

Dental charting software built around the tooth, not the form

A chart that shows the whole mouth

Every tooth has five surfaces, and each can hold its own condition or treatment. The chart stays at hand on the patient's page, in a flat 2D view or a 3D model, and treatments show their state from planned to done.

  • Five surfaces per tooth, with conditions and treatment history
  • 2D chart and 3D tooth view of the same record
  • Start a new treatment from the chart

FDI or Universal, without converting records

Records are stored in FDI, the two-digit ISO 3950 system. A clinic can choose to show and type tooth numbers in Universal (ADA) numbering instead, and switching never changes the data underneath.

  • FDI: 11-48, primary teeth 51-85
  • Universal: 1-32, primary teeth A-T
  • The same numbering on charts, treatments, plans and invoices

Periodontal exams next to the chart

Record probing depths, recession, bleeding, suppuration, plaque, mobility and furcations per site. Starting from the last exam copies what carries over, and pocket depths are measured fresh, so exams can be compared over time.

  • Per-site perio charting for permanent teeth
  • Missing teeth and implants come from the dental chart
  • Bleeding on probing and pocket summaries per exam

Notes and documents on the same patient

Clinical notes, documents and scans stay with the patient instead of in a folder somewhere else. On the Advanced plan, the assistant can turn dictation into a clinical note for you to review.

  • Clinical notes tied to the patient's treatment record
  • Documents and 3D scans stored on the patient
  • Optional voice notes on Advanced

Common questions

Does the chart support primary teeth?
Yes. Primary teeth are charted as 51-85 in FDI, or A-T when the clinic shows Universal numbering.
Can I use Universal numbering instead of FDI?
Yes. Tooth numbering is a clinic setting. Records stay in FDI underneath, so changing the setting only changes how numbers are shown and typed.
Is periodontal charting included?
Yes, perio exams are part of the patient record. They record probing depths, recession, bleeding and furcations per site for permanent teeth.
Can patients see their chart?
Patients on the Advanced portal can read their treatment plans, visits and documents. The clinical chart itself stays with the clinical team.
